The lower half is Clayton Day August 7, 2010.

Picture
Following the great donation (this year the proceeds went to the Clayton/ Deer Park Historical Society) breakfast and fun run all of Clayton people from miles around gathered in front of the Clayton Brickyard Tavern and up and down Railroad Ave. As far as you can see people wait in anticipation of the the CLAYTON DAY PARADE. You are never disappointed. The dignitaries were out in force. Left to Right. Edward (Pudge) King Kingrey (Grandson of Walter Sr. and Clara King) Alan Berg, Clayton (Art) Stelting, Duane Costa, Jack Lewis, Honorary Mayor (chuckle) of both Deer Park and Clayton.

Even Cheney, Washington, sent their Rodeo Queen to Clayton's parade.

Picture
There are absolutely oodles of children in the Parade and along the route.

Picture
That last mile must have looked pretty good. That's Howard Richards singing in the back of the wagon. You sounded good, Howard.

Picture
Clayton's Pee Wee Rodeo Queens.

Picture
One Blue 1960 Pontiac. Totally restored by 4 local men and it would have stolen the show had they entered it in the 2009 Clayton Day Parade.

Picture
Bill Sebright retired Arcadia School Teacher & Eddie Olson retired Washington Brick and Lime employee. Both full time Gentlemen.

Picture
The Military Dedication was headed by Lieutenant Colonel McMahan seen here. A special note, the family in the truck gives a heartfelt welcome to COL. McMAHAN and the Col. acknowledges them.

Picture
Because Rowena persevered, not only was Clayton a winner, but she was presented with a personal distinction award by Major General Lowenberg. There were only winners.

Picture
Dawson Trucking out of Valley, WA. This fine organization donated the cement for the base of the Eagle. We, the CDPHS, thank them for this very kind gesture.

Picture
Roll out the Barrell. Cheryl has a barrell of fun. The most adorable Tavern owner in Clayton. Just one more reason to call Clayton, MY HOMETOWN!!!!

Picture
Violet Nolan Westby Zimmerer, Grand Marshall of Clayton Day 2009, escorted by Randy Long of Clayton Drive In fame. Violet is the daughter of Ida Westby Nolan, who is the daughter of Ole T. and Helena Westby. Circa 90 years later  she lives within a quarter mile of where she was born.

Alan Berg's daughter and son in law ( very impressive couple), Edward and Mari Kingrey. Ed must have been a neat young man. He is still remembered by friends young and old. Glen Barnes, son of George. Bob Clouse & Mary Clouse.

Picture
With three of these men, Alan Berg on the left, Jack Lewis far right and Art Stelting near right it's possible to get the straight scoop on any subject regarding Clayton's past.

Picture
Every single year this little town comes alive and this is what it looks like in both directions. That's Andy Carlson in the blue shirt on the announcer's stand. Andy has been the Parade's announcer for many years. He always does a wonderful job.

Picture
No Parade is complete without Ponies.

Picture
This is Deer Park's award winning float.

Picture
There is not one shread on evidence where this tiny water wagon hailed from which bears checking.

Picture

Picture
More Kids coming down the trail on their trail bikes. One wonders if these younguns can make a sling shot or make a bow and arrow.

Picture
THE COLOR GUARD 2010 & the beginning of the Parade of all Clayton Parades. Compliments of Jason Hubal. Son of his very proud Mother, Grace Hubal Secretary of the CDPHS.

Picture
Upon orders from Major General Timothy Lowenberg which read as follows, “Rowena, either find a home for the Eagle or destroy it,” Rowena Valencia Gica through her own personal determination located the CDPHS, made a proposal which we accepted. The rest is history.
