In a little over a century education has set the stage for our nation. The following photos depict the progress of Stevens and Spokane County Schools.

Named Borders perhaps because the School building actually straddled the border of Stevens & Pend Orielle Counties.
Correction: This is not the Clayton School. It is the Clayton Community Chuch instead.
Clayton's second school rested back a block from the main road and when it was replaced it was moved to the main street and became the Ramble Inn, today the Brickyard Tavern.
Deer Park, Washington's first School house. It stood the test of time and still stands in the outskirts of town.

The newly remodeled and enlarged Deer Park High School is shown after its dedication on October 15, 2010. This is the Commons area. The main entrance is to the left. The new Ken Fisher Performing Arts Center was also dedicated.
BIG FOOT VALLEY SCHOOL was tucked away at the very end the trail, secluded but peaceful.
